Sometimes simple things like dozens of spam messages, lost luggage, or motion sickness can turn an ordinary day into a disaster. The routine we live in can be boring and a little hard to bear. Fortunately, there are practical tips that can make life easier.
At newdiscover , we’ve put together some tips that you can add to your daily routine to make it less stressful and boring.
- Use earplugs to manage motion sickness
Motion sickness is a reaction that occurs when our brain receives conflicting messages from our sensory receptors, such as our eyes and inner ear, and from our muscles. For example, when we drive a car, our eyes and inner ear send messages to our brain to tell it that we are moving, but our muscles are relaxed, so our brain is confused and responds with the symptoms of motion sickness.
There are many tips and tricks you’ve probably already heard about to avoid motion sickness, such as chewing gum or trying to yawn. However, there is another one that may not be well known, but is still useful. Putting a plug in one of your ears can help trick your brain into ignoring signals from the inner ear. Some people say it works best if you put a plug in the ear opposite your dominant hand. So if you are right-handed, put the plug in your left ear, and vice versa.
- 2. If you are traveling with someone, put some of your clothes in your partner’s luggage.
Nearly 25 million pieces of luggage are lost or misrouted every year. It may seem unimportant if the luggage is found later, but having to do without luggage during the vacations can turn into a disaster.
To avoid any problems, put some clothes in your travel companion’s bag and vice versa. If one of your bags gets lost, you’ll always have something to wear.
